My cable puts all of the super hero shows on Sunday, so instead of oversleeping today and watching it at 10, I have to wake up early and watch it at 8 It will be worth it though Vulture and Electro. WooHoo!

As a long time Spider-Man fan, I have to say...
...I LOVE THIS SHOW! This could be the definitive Spider-Man series.
Episodes: It was a great opening to what will be a great show. I liked how Peter is so confident when he's just starting out but then it's all starting to go downhill, still being treated like crap in high school, can't get a date, no money, and the rest of the Parker luck. It was cool how they packed so many characters in the first episode, especially people who will later become enemies (Eddie Brock/Venom, Alex O'Hirn/Rhino, Flint Marko/Sandman, Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, Otto Octavius/Doc Ock, Curt Connors/Lizard). I was kind of waiting for MJ to show up but then it came to me that they were trying to stick true to the comics, so later in the series, Anna Watson and Aunt May will keep trying to set them up but Peter won't want to do it. I just hope it doesn't take to long for that.
Characters:
Peter/Spidey- Spidey still basically the same ol wisecrackin webslinger, but it was cool seeing Peter not being so timid like the classics, but standing up to Flash and asking out the hot girl, and still get treated bad.
Gwen- I was kind of leary about giving her the nerd look since she was the hot blond in the comics, but it's not that bad.
Harry- The high voice was kind of weird, but I figured he may have just hit puberty, seeing as how Norman pays little attention to him.
Norman- I was kind of hoping there would be the "I wish Peter was my son" thing for this show, and I was pleased.
Jameson- What can I say? He's traditional JJ.
Liz- It doesn't bother me that they changed her to hispanic, as long her character stays the same, it's cool (same goes for Ned Leeds, or Lee here, being asian). I liked how they showed she may have a little crush on Peter too, just like the early comics.
Aunt May- I liked how they went the Ultimate route and made her younger.
Eddie- I am really interested to see how his and Peter's relationship will turn sour. Exactly what will drive Eddie to bond with the symbiote and try to kill Peter.
Electro- Had a good introduction. It was cool to see how he and Eddie were friends, but starts to lose his mind as the electricity continues to rise.
Vulture- Robert Englund was a good choice for his voice.
Enforcers- I'd like to see more of them, along with Hammerhead and Bigman (spoiler: you know the Fosswell guy Jameson yelled at? That's all I'm saying.)
OVERALL: This show is gonna kick some serious @$$. I can't wait for Lizard next week.

I think it will be an awesome series. The spider-man in this series feels like good old spidey, the story telling is good the characters feel familair. It's funny.
Can't wait for next episodes.

WooHoo! Okay I saw the episodes today. I love the Vulture "I'm what you called me, a vulture." "I called you a buzzard, you can't even get the name right!" Electro was cool, too. I like how he's more of his Ultimate version. With his head made of electrical currents. "With out a cure, I'm not Max Dillon, I'm...What did you call me?" "lightning butt" "No, the other thing.... ELECTRO! I AM ELECTRO!" Eddie was So nice, I could never imagine him becoming a villain. Liz's accent was SO annoying! "Petey?"

This show really blew me away. I know that the 90s Spiderman toon is supposed to be definitive for the most part, but I really enjoy the animation more on this series and so far the stories and voice acting have been far above the par that I expected!
Can't wait to see more!

Hey folks. First post.
I finally got to see the first two episodes and overall I thought they were a blast. The only way I can think of the really describe the feel of the show is that in a what goes around comes around fashion it's like mixing the Lee/Ditko era comics with The Batman and Danny Phantom. But I'll quantify that by saying Greg Weisman of Gargoyles fame seems to know how to mix these just right in a way that gives the show it's own identity and is still very identifiable as Spider-Man.
I really enjoyed seeing what I consider to be the characteristic of Spidey's fighting style in play here. He taunts his foes and his physical attacks often serve to humiliate them which is a key element that I always found the movies to be very sorely lacking in.
The characters are presented well. What they might lack in strict canonical accuracy is balanced by a truth of spirit. Though Eddie Brock is far, far away from his comicbook incarnation and in the show it is frankly, to his benefit. He might actually be a character now.
In my opinion, the show is rich with love for its source material but never at the expense of becoming something only those with a longbox full of Marvel comics can enjoy. Most of it is in visual cues that were unique to the classic Spider-Man comics such as the ending shots where Ditko would draw Spidey's mask symbolically overhead. This might actually be the first Spidey cartoon that has really paid any real visual service to Steve Ditko's style since the very first cartoon in the 60's.
On the critical, some of Sean "Cheeks 74" Galloway's designs take some getting used to. However I like his designs for this show better than anything I have ever seen on his DA page or covers he's drawn. I think it could be said that to really get the effectiveness of his approach you have to see the characters in motion. Not to say the model sheets look bad or anything, I think it's just that you can't really appreciate how well the designs can work until you see how they use them in context of the show.
The only thing so far about the show that I just do not like at all is the opening theme. Which is always a very sad thing for me because in many respects the OP is just as big a deal to me as the actual content of the show. It's the thing that should set the mood or get you pumped for it. It's really unfortunate for such a strong and fun Spidey cartoon to be saddled with an opening theme that is lyrically the most blatantly uncreative since Krypto and musically it makes the second The Batman OP look like the first. I will say that the opening sequence by itself is really cool, especially with that ending shot of Spidey shooting webs right at the camera.

Also during the opening theme, on the newspaper, you can see a picture of Spidey carring someone. I looks just like the cover to Amazing Fantasty #15

I looks just like the cover to Amazing Fantasty #15 Well, I guess it's possible the theme could grow on me but I think it needs either a lot of work or just a total do-over. I agree with you about that shot. Like I said, the sequence is awesome. I just want a better OP.

Can't wait to see more! I agree. I probably enjoyed for the most part, that Electro was introduced as a tragic figure, rather than a selfsih lineman. I cannot wait to see how his character develops through the series. As you can see, I'm new here, so I hope we can all share our love of this new series that accurately conveys the world of Peter Parker.

I live in Canada so I had to watch them online which kind of sucks but I still thought the first two episodes were great. I liked almost everything about both of them. The only thing I didn't like was Harry's voice.
